STEM Academy

Are you ready for an adventure? Here at the Nehemiah Center, we offer an intuitive STEAM Academy for youth between the ages of 6 to 15.

 

We are so excited to announce our partnership with WozEd &  Apple Founder - Steve Wozniak.  We are Guilford County's 1st WozED STEM Career Pathway Community Center.  This distinction allows us to provide career exploration with 10 STEM Career pathways that will readily prepare our youth and teens for a dynamic and brighter future.  From coding to cybersecurity, from robotic engineering to drone flight school.  Early and consistent exposure is the key.  We are truly creating a more diversified and qualified workforce.  Fulfilling our STEM motto:

Our STEM Academy has two programs that we operate year round.

 

Our first program is the After-School STEAM Academy.  We work  in accordance with Guilford County Schools and follow the calendar they have issued. We have scholarships available for those who qualify from our local funding sources.  Our program includes homework help, tutoring with certified school teachers coupled with STEM-related activities.  A daily snack is provided. 

 

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 3:00 pm to 6:00pm.

Our second program is the STEAM & Robotics Exploration Spring Break Camp (Mar 25-28) and Summer Camp (Jun 17 - Aug 9th). Our camps specialize in engineering, robotics, coding, 3-D printing and drone flying.  These activities are designed to create career awareness to our younger generation.  Other activities include: character development, swimming, field trips and much more.

 

This program is for youth & teenagers between the ages of 6 to 14. We have scholarships available to those who qualify. Our program includes breakfast, lunch, and snack daily.

 

Hours of operation for our summer camp are

Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.

Teen Apprenticeship Summer Employment is available for teens 15-17.  Workforce Development and IT training to prep your teen for the world of technology.
